Let's try to imagine an automotive market that offers the sale of cars with factory buyback after e.g. five years of exploitation... Can you imagine such a situation? I can!
The benefits are obvious, both for the Earth and for customers' pockets. I also think that at the same time we will achieve even greater care for cars. We will not hide the damage from the Factory, as is often the case. But the most difficult question for me personally is:
How to open the client to such a big market change? It seems simple, after restoration, new cars must be better than the previous ones!
We assume that our earlier conclusion regarding the design of spare parts that are as removable as possible has been implemented in production processes. Refurbished spare parts in cars should be:
1) Complete, removable bodies.
2) Combustion engines, electric and others.
3) Drive and control elements.
4) Electrical harnesses.
5) Lighting.
6) Wheels
The elements (a necessary evil in the first stage of the revolution) installed as new are:
7) Security
8) Visualization
9) Optional equipment
The risk of current global problems with maintaining supply chains, in items 1 to 6, would be significantly lower, or perhaps even unnoticeable. If customers were s atisfied with the safety (point 7) of the previous model, the cost of purchasing such a car would be very competitive 😊
It is worth summarizing our considerations with data on currently registered vehicles.
The SAMAR Automotive Market Research Institute determines that at the end of 2021, there were over 19 million vehicles registered in Poland. 70% of them were over 10 years old. We can assume that the average car driving in Poland is now on average about 18 years old. What if this average car got his life back three times in that period?
Who would benefit from refurbished cars? First, buyers who could afford new cars. Moreover, the Automotive market, whose revenues would increase significantly. And our planet Earth? There is no need to explain this.
By fantasizing about the topics discussed, we hope to stimulate young and open minds to action! When I watched the movie BACK TO THE FUTURE II in the 1980s, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, we have never expected that we would live to see flying cars! Or maybe soon we will travel back in time 😊? Let's just let the Earth live and maybe it will allow us to do so. Producing refurbished cars can undoubtedly contribute to this, right?
